Chalice of Love – Hewittia malabarica, Hewitt’s Dwarf Morning Glory

Hewittia malabarica, Hewitt’s Dwarf Morning Glory – Msinsi Nature Reserve, Berea, Durban. A common and flociferous creeper at the reserve. I think I invented that word. Most beautiful is the way in which the maroon heart of this flower softly suffuses out of its vessel and bleeds into the creamy-yellow napkin like petal.
